Common questions
Where are my recordings stored?
Locally on your device only, encrypted with a key held in your device's Android Keystore. Nothing is uploaded unless you explicitly turn on the optional Google Drive backup in Settings.
I uninstalled the app — can I get my recordings back?
Only if you had Drive backup turned on beforehand. Reinstalling the app and signing back in with the same Google account will offer to restore automatically, since restore only runs when your local library is empty. Without backup enabled, local-only data can't be recovered after uninstall — this is intentional, since we have no server copy to recover it from.
Why does Drive backup ask for permission again?
Signing in with Google and granting Drive access are two separate steps — Google treats them as different kinds of permission. You may see a Drive consent screen the first time you back up or restore even after you've already signed in.
Does the ambient soundtrack use real music?
No — the optional "Play with atmosphere" layer is made of short, original textures generated on your own device, never a licensed or copyrighted recording, and it's always kept far quieter than your voice.
How do I delete something?
Open any reflection and use the delete icon at the top — this removes the recording, its note, and its transcript together. You can also delete just a transcript, independent of the audio, from the transcript card.
